01Scope and acceptance
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Buildhouse app, distributed via the Apple App Store, together with the website at buildhouse.app and the notification service behind it (collectively, the "Service"), operated by the developer listed in the Imprint.
By downloading, installing, opening or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
02The service
Buildhouse is a client for Apple's App Store Connect API. You create an API key in App Store Connect and paste it into the app; the app then reads your Xcode Cloud products, workflows, build runs, actions, test results and artifacts, and can start workflows on your behalf. That traffic goes directly from your device to Apple.
The optional notification service is separate. If you subscribe and enable it, you paste a personal webhook URL into the Xcode Cloud settings of the apps you choose, and Apple then sends build events to us so we can deliver them to your devices as notifications and Live Activities.
You are responsible for the API key you create, for the scope of access you grant it, and for any action taken with it — including starting builds. Create a key with the least privilege you need, and revoke it in App Store Connect if you lose the device.
03Acceptable use
When using the Service you agree not to:
- use an App Store Connect API key you are not authorised to use, or use the Service to access an organisation's data without permission;
- use the Service to interfere with, overload or abuse Apple's services, including by triggering builds at an abusive rate;
- reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive source code, except as expressly permitted by mandatory applicable law;
- resell, redistribute or provide the Service to third parties, or redistribute the application binary outside the Apple App Store;
- interfere with, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its infrastructure, including by sending forged webhooks.
04Subscriptions and payments
Buildhouse is free to download, and browsing your apps, workflows and recent builds requires no payment. A Buildhouse Pro subscription — offered monthly or yearly, and which may begin with a free trial — enables push notifications and Live Activities and unlocks the full build history. A one-time lifetime purchase is also offered.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renew, in your Apple Account settings at any time.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
All purchases are processed by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms. Subscription state is brokered on our behalf by RevenueCat, which is described in the Privacy Policy. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with those terms; we cannot issue refunds directly.
05Availability
We do not guarantee that a notification will arrive, that a Live Activity will start or end on time, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Delivery depends on Apple's push infrastructure and on Xcode Cloud sending the webhook, neither of which is under our control. Do not rely on Buildhouse as the sole signal for a release or an incident. We may release updates, change features or discontinue the Service at any time, subject to the App Store's distribution policies.
06Intellectual property
The "Buildhouse" name, wordmark and the visual design of this website are the property of the developer. The application binary is licensed, not sold; the Apple Media Services Terms apply in addition to these Terms. Apple, Xcode, Xcode Cloud, App Store Connect and TestFlight are trademarks of Apple Inc.; Buildhouse is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.
07Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Swiss law, the Service is provided "as is" and without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
The developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, missed or delayed notifications, builds started in error, or business interruption arising from your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
08Changes to the service
We may add, change or remove features at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page and, where appropriate, in the release notes of a new app version. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
09Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by removing your webhook in App Store Connect, uninstalling the app and, if applicable, cancelling your subscription via your Apple Account. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if continued operation would expose us to legal or operational risk. Upon termination, sections that by their nature should survive (intellectual property, liability, governing law) will remain in effect.
10Governing law
These Terms are governed by the substantive law of Switzerland, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). Exclusive place of jurisdiction is Zürich, Switzerland, subject to mandatory provisions of consumer protection law in your country of residence.
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
